University is such a pivotal moment of an individual’s life. Education empowers individuals to figure out who they want to be and what they want to do with their lives.
At university, I will be studying psychology, a subject I was driven to study because of the increased recognition of the importance of mental health, as well as my desire to pursue a degree in a subject that would be transformational for others and my own personal development. I dream of leaving university with a degree in the subject I love, and making a real difference in people’s lives, no matter how big or small. To me, I value psychology as a field with constant learning and growth, allowing me to challenge ideas. I hope to find a career where I can ease suffering and make others open up to a much more fulfilling life.
My hopes and dreams for university are to find out my purpose in life and find who I really am, with this new-found independence and freedom. Going from the tiny bubble of secondary school into the big world of university is daunting, and it can be hard to find your place, but I hope to find where I truly belong. I dream of making the most incredible friends through our shared experiences of living away from home, with all these different possibilities right at our very fingertips, ready to be grabbed. I hope to say “yes” to every opportunity that comes my way, without a moment’s hesitation, because as everyone says, there really is no better time than when you are at university—young, wild and care-free. I hope I live my best life.
Above all else, I dream to be whatever it is I want to be when I come out of university, because with hard work and dedication, when you put your mind to it, anything is possible, and I will always believe this.
