If you think you know me…

based on what you’ve heard or judged from afar,

allow me to reintroduce myself:

I’m Adriana.

And my evolution… is constant.

Never have I waited for my Prince Charming.

I’ve always been a knight of my own.

Sword in hand, steadfast,

I faced the battles that few dared to dream.

 

Each “no” I’ve heard,

each label, they gave me

were like trampolines —

launching me higher,

awakening a strength I never knew was there.

 

I lost my eyesight,

but gained a much more powerful vision:

that of the soul.

In darkness, I learned to see

the invisible, the profound,

the things that truly matter.

 

They called me a bore.

They called me a fool for dreaming big.

But I remained loyal

to my principles, to my values

and to the courage of dreaming against all odds.

 

Today, I continue my mission.

I’m still a dreamer,

but also a living harvest

of all I’ve sown with faith, pain, and love.

 

And when everyone thought my life had ended,

was the moment… I flourished.

In that part of the story,

which many would have called the end, I wrote my most beautiful beginning.

 

Today, I’m not only known in my town,

nor my country…

Now, the whole world knows my name.

And that…

that’s just the beginning.

 

Yes, I embrace being a Soroptimist.

I embrace the call to uplift other women,

because I know that a woman transformed…

transforms the society as a whole.
